Drink for a Cause: Negroni Week 2016

Every year, Imbibe Magazine unites cocktails and philanthropy in a weeklong marriage. Simple, strong and always a crowd-pleaser, the Negroni is a go-to cocktail for many of us. During Negroni Week we can get the added satisfaction that our imbibing goes toward a good cause.

From June 6 through June 12, participating bars and restaurants will donate a portion of proceeds from each Negroni sold to the charity of their choice.

Naturally, our clients jumped at at this chance to give back. So if you love Negronis, be sure to pay them a visit. Check out these delicious cocktails below and take your pick!

CANTINE Italian Café & Bar’s Adrian Braun has created a special Negroni for this week – the Sylvari Negroni. Named after a fictional race of gentle faeries, this unique variation features Jamaica infused Mezcal, chamomile infused Cocchi, Gran Classico and saffron bitters. Part of proceeds from this delicately floral libation go to Austin Pets Alive!

Péché offers not one, not two, but four Negronis for you imbibers to choose from during Negroni Week. There is the Frapponi, which features Absinthe, Campari, housemade Orgeat or,  if you are in the mood for something effervescent, definitely try the Titoni. This one is comprised of Tito’s Vodka, Campari, and sparkling wine. For those wanting to keep it casual, definitely go for the Lone Negroni – a unusual spin made from Tru Organic Gin, Campari and Lone Star Beer. Do you like things little smokey? You are in luck. Péché has created LaFumée Pêche  (a.k.a. The Smokey Peach). Featuring Mezcal, Campari, house-made peach gum syrup and served with peach brûlée, this one is sure to wake up your tastebuds. Proceeds for these four standouts go to Paws in Prison, so drink up and save the doggies!
