Odd Duck / Barley Swine

Award-winning chef Bryce Gilmore opened Odd Duck in December 2013, with much acclaim. After the success of his first restaurant, Barley Swine, Gilmore repurposed his food truck concept into his second brick and mortar. Over the course of three years, Odd Duck has continued to remain one of the most popular restaurants in Austin with its whimsical play on food and cocktails, utilizing local ingredients. Resplendent Hospitality was not only instrumental in the launch of the restaurant, but in maintaining its favorable media presence with PR, social media and event planning. Since working with Gilmore on all of his concepts, Resplendent Hospitality has planned sold-out events, such as Odd Duck’s Summer Dinner Series, annual anniversary party, and the All In One Boat party in March 2016, in which Odd Duck partnered with Danny Meyer’s New York based Union Square Hospitality Group. Odd Duck continues to receive notable press and accolades from the likes of The New York Times, DeparturesBon Appetit and O the Oprah Magazine, as well as the James Beard Foundation Awards.

Salt Traders Coastal Cooking

Salt Traders Coastal Cooking is the second concept from the team behind Jack Allen’s Kitchen, who we have worked with since the beginning. Owners Jack Gilmore and Tom Kamm had a specific vision to create a seafood-centric restaurant that attracted customers both for its signature hospitality and fresh fare, as well as its approachability. Once the name was chosen, we began sorting through artwork for inspiration to layout the framework for designing and building menus, produced photo shoots with artist Kenny Braun and designed and built an attractive, user-friendly website. Simultaneously, we implemented our launch public relations and social media campaign for Gilmore and Kamm, whose successful restaurants have been written up in The New York Times and Texas Monthly, featured on PBS/Fine Cooking’s “Moveable Feast,” and debuted a cookbook, now in its second print.

Paula’s Texas Grapefruit Launch

Paula’s Texas Liqueurs was the second Texas distillery to produce alcohol, after leading vodka brand, Tito’s Vodka. The liqueur brand launched with a lemon flavor inspired by limoncello, and an orange flavor quickly followed. In 2016, Paula’s Texas Liqueurs launched its third flavor, grapefruit, using all Texas fruit. The parent company, Empresario Spirits, enlisted Resplendent Hospitality to plan, organize and execute its launch party with the purpose of not only creating media buzz, but to get bottles in the hands of Austin’s best and most influential bar owners and bartenders. We worked with our friends at Springdale Farm to host the party, where industry professionals, influencers and media attended. Resplendent Hospitality was hired to manage PR and Marketing for the Paula’s Texas Liqueurs brand on a local and regional level. Since working together, we have received favorable press mentions in many outlets, including the Austin American-Statesman, Prime Living, and The New York Times.
